Interview on Building Browsergames
There’s a short interview with me up on Building Browsergames. I think it’s a promising site that’s geared towards helping out develoepers who are interested in building their own games like Forumwarz.
(I’ve also agreed to do a Forumwarz “Post-Mortem” for them. It should be live shortly and I’ll probably cross-post/link it on this blog too.)
Interview on Waxy.org!
Yesterday I took a couple of hours to chat with Andy Baio of Waxy.org about Forumwarz, and he’s just published the interview.
It’s quite long and goes into huge amount of depth about Forumwarz, its development process, our team and everything else under the sun. It was the first time I’ve done an interview with someone who had actually completed the game, and I think it really shows through in the quality of the discussion.
Here’s a snippet of me talking about the introduction to the game:
When I first came up with the idea, Jalapeno and I spent a little time looking at other web RPGs. And I couldn’t believe how obtuse some of them were. There was one, I honestly forget which one, that said “The best way to get started is to read our wiki.” And I thought that was ridiculous, as if someone is going to sit down and read through a wiki before playing.
