A few days ago, I checked in the last piece of code to Episode 2 that made it playable from beginning to end. It took a lot longer to stich together the storyline than Episode 1 did, I think because we tried to add variety to missions wherever possible. In Episode 1, the majority of the missions are “Pwn this forum.” While the gameplay still revolves around pwning forums in Episode 2, we tried to vary it up as much as possible. This meant a lot of extra programming, but I think the end product is worth it. ...

We got tired of always missing the deadline for creating new E-Peen(tm) when launching every fourth forum, so Jalapeno and I went nuts and created all the E-Peen(tm) for the forums you can pwn in a row through 100 as well as medals through 100. This should last you guys a while :) If you pwned 44 forums in a row and did not receive your E-Peen(tm) for it yet, please tubmail Evil Trout! Thanks! ...

Our own [Jalapeno Bootyhole](http://www.forumwarz.com/profiles/Jalapeno Bootyhole) has painstakingly renamed and modified about 45 of our word types for easier use! The full list would be too long to list in this blog entry, so you can view it here as a spreadsheet. Other Bugfixes and Enhancements Searching for Word Types is much better. It can now find partial searches (like xbo for Xbox) or even words in the middle of other words. If you were frustrated with it before, give it another shot! ...

We have two New Forum builds since I last posted about them: Don’t have time to write your thesis? Forgot about that paper due tomorrow? Software Upgrades Forumwarz is now running on Phusion Passenger instead of Nginx and Mongrel. The kicker was when I asked Zed Shaw, the creator of Mongrel, about Ruby security vunerabilities at RubyFringe, and he said “Honestly, just use Passenger.” When the creator of a piece of software (although who admittedly doesn’t maintain it anymore) suggests that I use another piece of software, I listen :) New Features Haxlrose’s resets are now always free, but limited to once every 4 days. ...

We’ve added Speed Run times for almost every forum. The two newest ones didn’t have enough statistics behind them to come up with accurate numbers. I also came up with what I think is a more statistically competant formula for calculating the speed run times for forums. It pays a lot more attention to the standard deviation of fast times, and also ignores the few people who have the Defaced Mona Lisa item from the calculations. In a few of the tougher forums, having a DML skewed the speed run times by a lot! ...

Another New Domination Theme! Tonight we’re starting a new Domination Theme: Clash of the Titans. It will begin at 9:30PM EDT when the new Domination week begins. Some small updates today! New Stuff You now need to be level 4 in order to post on Flamebate or on IDC. This is a new mechanism to prevent abuse. Descriptions for Forums are now collapsed and are expandable by clicking on a link. Increased max file size of uploads to 100k (was 60k prev.)
