I finished Braid over the weekend. It’s a very hard game. I say that because I couldn’t play for more than 45-60 minutes at a time, without shutting off my Xbox in frustration. It’s something that other forums have had forever but we never did: polling! Anyone can attach a poll to any thread they make. You can have up to 10 choices for now which I think should be enough for most polls. It’s not very pretty, but the base is there for future upgrades. We got tired of always missing the deadline for creating new E-Peen(tm) when launching every fourth forum, so Jalapeno and I went nuts and created all the E-Peen(tm) for the forums you can pwn in a row through 100 as well as medals through 100. It’s been a while since we’ve run a contest, so today I’d like to announce The Forumwarz Comics contest. For those too lazy to click that underlined text above, it’s a contest where our users create comics featuring NPCs from Episode 1. We are rewarding funniest comic and best art, so you can enter even if you suck at drawing!

Not everything in Episode 2 is related to new content. We’re using the development time to streamline some other things, such as the battle interface. Check out a new screenshot! The biggest difference is that we’ve re-claimed the top part of the screen. While in battle, normally the only links from the top menu you’d want are to Leave Battle or to Report a Bug. Instead of wasting inches of screen real estate on the logo and tabs, we’ve come up with a one-line version takes up a lot less room! The text “Emi” in the screenshot is the name of the test character I’m using. ...

Our own [Jalapeno Bootyhole](http://www.forumwarz.com/profiles/Jalapeno Bootyhole) has painstakingly renamed and modified about 45 of our word types for easier use! The full list would be too long to list in this blog entry, so you can view it here as a spreadsheet. Other Bugfixes and Enhancements Searching for Word Types is much better. It can now find partial searches (like xbo for Xbox) or even words in the middle of other words. If you were frustrated with it before, give it another shot! ...

We have two New Forum builds since I last posted about them: Don’t have time to write your thesis? Forgot about that paper due tomorrow? Is your boss going to fire you if you don’t turn in that ad copy soon? Search the internet for things other people wrote and “borrow” their ideas… and then post them here for the rest of us to steal! Now that the project has forked off of Forumwarz, this should be the last you hear about it in this blog! Check its official pages for updates.

It’s been a while since I wrote about Episode 2 stuff on the blog, even though I am spending the majority of my time these days working on it. One thing other RPGs have established is that grinding to level up your character feels a lot less like grinding when there is an objective just on the horizon. Right now, thanks to the community forums, there are more than enough forums to visit and pwn in Episode 1. However, besides levelling up your character or earning Flezz, there is little reason to visit them. ...
